Love of Language, Love of Culture, Love of People
Story Contributor: Dr. Tarisi Vunidilo
Pioneer of Pasifika cultural heritage preservation and repatriation shares the journey to her calling and the sense of duty that has led her to this moment.
“...I took away all those kinds of societal labels you know, ‘you're too young,’ right, ‘you're a girl,’ ‘you’re inexperienced,’ ‘you just graduated,’ what have you.
“You’ve got all these doubts, you know, which is true. But I just push them aside. I'm here for the calling and this is my purpose. To be here, to do this work. Not for me, but for my people.”
